They Belong Somewhere

Dear Reader,

Don't cry because it's over...
smile because it happened.

They Belonged Somewhere...

My deft fingers ran through the pages;
the words taking me around the world,
different people, different stages.

On top of the world and back to the forest,
Hogwarts and Narnia,
Books if I'm honest.

I look to see your face,
Your eyes look into my soul.
I fought beside you,
I cried with you,
But were you really there?

You brought the life back to me.
And you made me feel like I belonged somewhere.

The wands and the robes,
The closets and abodes-
Was it all just a dream?

Saved me from madness, yet left me to cry.
I don't want this to end...
I don't want to say goodbye.

So here's to a girl,
born in the wrong world.
Here's to a girl,
Who once felt like she belonged.

Even if they were only 'fictional',
Even if they never were there.
Even if they never stood here,
Evn if they never felt her dispair.

All she wanted was to feel at home.
All she wanted was to remain there.
But now she grew, but not drifted away.
Yes she flew, but not astray.

And she vowed to them,
She'd dwell in the pages.
Etched in her soul,
More than just phases.

And that's when she knew,
No matter where she went.
They'll always welcome her home,
Like she belonged somewhere.
