I’m in love with a fairytale

I’m in love with a fairytale

I was a boy, and she was a woman.
They told me stay away from the pain.
But what am I if not cursed,
what is my heart besides insane?

I was a black night and she was the Sun-
oh what sweet springs she lit my world up with, oh what sweet things I’d dream about her with.

And I found that she pulled me when I pushed all away,
I found my vision blurry- but now clear as day.

And one fateful moon- her soul left this place,
because of course I never deserved anything good to stay with grace.
And so I locked myself and my heart sank deeper.
But my love never wavered, yet my heart became weaker.

And one stormy night, I saw a tiny dancer- dressed in white of the swan’s beauty.
And she- ever etched like muscle memory was one I recognised immediately.
And now she stays in my heart, dancing around me.
Now she keeps me like a moth to flame- every young and free. Because I’m in love with a fairytale- and now the hurt is numb.
Because I wouldn’t mind losing my mind for her, she lifted my curse.
